The Everest Base Camp Trek is a 14-day expedition that takes you through the heart of the Khumbu region, offering unparalleled views of towering peaks like Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Starting with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the trail winds through vibrant Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries, and diverse landscapes, culminating at the iconic Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters. This trek is designed for those seeking both adventure and cultural immersion.


Outline Itinerary

Welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a Sacred Trails representative will greet you and escort you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Spend the day relaxing or exploring the nearby Thamel market. In the evening, we’ll gather for a trek briefing and enjoy a welcome dinner. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Explore Kathmandu’s cultural treasures with a local Sacred Trails guide, including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath, and Durbar Square. We’ll also arrange your trekking permits. Evening at leisure. Overnight at your hotel.
Take a scenic flight to Lukla and meet your trekking team. Begin your trek along the Dudh Koshi River through pine forests and over suspension bridges to Phakding. Trek duration: 3–4 hours. Overnight at a teahouse.
Trek through beautiful forests and villages like Monjo, then cross the Hillary Suspension Bridge. A climb leads to the vibrant Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar. Trek duration: 5–6 hours. Overnight at a teahouse.
To aid acclimatization, hike to Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Explore the Sherpa Museum or local market. Rest and hydrate in the afternoon. Overnight in Namche.
Enjoy stunning mountain views as you follow the trail around the valley, then descend to Phunki Tenga. From here, ascend through rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche, home to the region’s largest monastery. Overnight at a teahouse.
Begin with a descent to Debuche and cross the Imja River. Ascend past Pangboche, known for its heritage and monastery. The trail becomes more alpine as you approach Dingboche. Trek duration: 5–6 hours. Overnight at a teahouse.
Hike up Nangkartshang Peak for incredible views of Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and more. This climb aids acclimatization. Return to Dingboche for rest. Overnight at a teahouse.
Ascend gently to Dughla, then steeply to the Memorial Park, a tribute to Everest climbers. Continue to Lobuche along the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. Trek duration: 5–6 hours. Overnight at a teahouse.
Trek to Gorak Shep, rest and lunch, then continue to Everest Base Camp. Soak in the energy of this iconic location before returning to Gorak Shep. Trek duration: 6–7 hours total. Overnight at a teahouse.
Begin early with a hike to Kala Patthar for breathtaking sunrise views of Everest. Return to Gorak Shep for breakfast, then trek downhill to Pheriche. Duration: 6–7 hours. Overnight at a teahouse.
Descend through Pangboche and Debuche along alpine meadows and forests, with views of Ama Dablam. A relaxed and scenic day. Overnight at a teahouse in Dibuche.
Retrace your path through Tengboche and Namche Bazaar. Stop for lunch or coffee before continuing the descent to Manjo. Last night in the Sagarmatha National Park area. Overnight at a teahouse.
Trek through familiar villages along the Dudh Koshi River. A reflective and peaceful walk back to Lukla. Celebrate your trek completion with the team. Overnight at a teahouse.
Enjoy a scenic morning flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel. Free time to relax or explore. In the evening, join Sacred Trails for a farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant. Overnight in Kathmandu.
A Sacred Trails representative will transfer you to the airport for your onward journey. We hope you leave with unforgettable memories and the proud feeling of having completed the Everest Base Camp trek!
