Overview
The Gokyo and Everest Trek is a breathtaking journey that combines the best of the Khumbu region—glacial lakes, high passes, and Everest Base Camp. Operated by Sacred Trails, this trek takes you to the serene turquoise Gokyo Lakes, up to Gokyo Ri for stunning panoramic views, across the challenging Cho La Pass, and onwards to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar. Outline Itinerary
A Sacred Trails representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. Evening briefing and welcome dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Take a scenic mountain flight to Lukla and begin your trek. Descend along the Dudh Koshi River to reach the riverside village of Phakding. Overnight at a teahouse.
Cross suspension bridges and enter Sagarmatha National Park. Climb through pine forest to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest. Overnight in Namche.
Acclimatize with a hike to Everest View Hotel or Khumjung village. Explore local culture and museums in Namche. Overnight stay in Namche.
Leave the classic EBC trail and ascend into the Gokyo Valley. Pass through rhododendron and birch forests, reaching the small village of Dole. Overnight at a teahouse.
Follow the high-altitude trail through alpine landscapes to Machhermo. Enjoy dramatic views of Cho Oyu and surrounding peaks. Overnight at a teahouse.
Trek past glacial moraines and beautiful lakes to reach Gokyo village beside the third Gokyo Lake. Overnight beside the serene blue waters.
Hike up to Gokyo Ri early for sunrise views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Return to Gokyo for rest and exploration. Overnight at a teahouse.
A challenging but rewarding day as you cross the icy Cho La Pass. Descend carefully to the remote village of Dzongla. Overnight stay.
A shorter and more relaxed day along the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to reach Lobuche. Enjoy views of Nuptse and Pumori. Overnight in Lobuche.
