Outline Itinerary
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a Sacred Trails representative will receive you and transfer you to your hotel. Trip briefing and welcome dinner in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, take a short scenic flight to Pokhara. Enjoy a relaxing lakeside evening with views of the Annapurna range. Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.
Fly to Jomsom with spectacular views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri. Begin your trek by walking along the Kali Gandaki River to Kagbeni, a gateway to Upper Mustang. Overnight at a teahouse.
Enter the restricted area of Upper Mustang after a permit check. Trek through arid landscapes and medieval villages to Chele. Overnight stay at a teahouse.
Ascend through narrow canyons and cross Taklam La pass (3,624m). Encounter caves and Tibetan-style villages before reaching Syangbochen. Overnight at a teahouse.
Trek past ancient mani walls and cross Yamda La pass (3,850m). Reach Ghami, a large village with traditional mud houses and Tibetan culture. Overnight at a teahouse.
A short day leads to Tsarang, a beautiful village with a large red gompa and palace. Explore the cultural treasures of this medieval village. Overnight at a teahouse.
Trek through desert-like terrain and cross the windy Lo La Pass (3,950m) to reach Lo-Manthang—the walled capital of the ancient Mustang kingdom. Overnight in Lo-Manthang.
Visit monasteries, the Royal Palace, and nearby Chhoser caves. Learn about local traditions and Tibetan Buddhism. Overnight in Lo-Manthang.
Retrace your steps to Ghami via Charang, enjoying alternate views of the landscapes. Overnight at a teahouse.
